I haven't been at all faithful about putting the shrouds on Stealth Reliabity each time I park it in the driveway, and yesterday we got a letter from the HOA compliance officer (former commander of the SS) saying I was in violation of the CC& R's by having a commercial vehicle parked in front of the house. It just annoys me that someone's life is that small, and that faded black fabric held on the side of the van with magnets is better than the discreet lettering of my business name.
I'm debating whether I should just take the vinyl lettering off. I do think it has a function. I doubt anyone will hire me because they saw my van driving down the road and thought, "Hey, that guy is just what I need." Hasn't happened yet. But when I'm parked in front of a house I think it looks more professional to be there in what is obviously a business van. It makes me look official. But it sure is a hassle to have to put those shrouds on at the end of a long day.
I spent an hour on the phone yesterday trying to resolve a problem with a purchase I made, and realized early on that I was talking to an off-shore call center. At one point in our conversation she mentioned that she wanted to come to the States sometime, so I asked her where she was. "Mauritius, but you probably have no idea where that is."
I told her I did indeed know where it was, and proceeded to tell her. Boy, was she surprised!
Do you know?
I delivered the third ramp and installed the shower dam this morning. Best part - I got paid! His wife comes home next Monday.
I also experimented with marquetry, which I'm trying to learn. Didn't go so well. Not only was I completely unsuccessful at my first project but I broke my scroll saw in the process. I've ordered replacement parts so I'll try again when they come. I tried to find someone who did marquetry but without success. Some things are not easily learned from print.
Tomorrow's agenda includes opening up the motorcycle until I get to the leak in the fuel line. I'm hoping it goes better than the marquetry!
OK, if you didn't do so well with Mauritius, how 'bout this one: what OT verse is quoted most often in the NT? Hint: it's in the chapter we'll be looking at this Sunday at Pathway Bible Church. Feel free to join us! We'd love to have you!
