Don't let your mind wander. It's far too small to be let out on its own.

Somebody didn't get the memo.

Am I the only one not interested in watching the opening ceremonies? The cost for the gala ran to $100 million. That's a lot of sparklers!

And did you hear the U.S. govt. warning for Americans attending the Olympics?! Do NOT take any electronic device, including your cell phone. If you feel you must take it - or a PDA, laptop or any similar device - take out the battery when you're not using it. I am NOT making this up; I watched a State Dept. official interviewed on NBC. He said that even if your cell phone is in your pocket and turned off, the Chinese can turn it on and activate the microphone. Yikes! He also said no one should assume they're not important enough for the Chinese to be interested in.

If the Chinese can do that with a cell phone, do you suppose our govt. knows how to do it?

At some point I have to consider the possibility that God just did not mean some people to swim. And only a fool would fight against the sovereign will of God.
(Need I tell you how today's time at the pool went?)

In a blog post dated July 26 I wrote about the mainstream media (often identified as the MSM) and their decision to ignore the John Edwards adultery story. Today it all came out in the open, not because Edwards was hounded by the MSM, but because local papers in his home state, especially the Charlotte Observer were pursuing it vigorously. He 'fessed up.
But Edward's explanation doesn't pass the sniff test. He says the affair took place - beginning to end - in 2006, and that when it ended that year he told his wife about it. This places it before his run for the Democratic nomination.
Convenient, except how does he explain a seruptitious middle-of-the-night visit to her hotel room just weeks ago? Do you do that when a relationship ended years earlier?
Edwards said in today's statement that "I didn't love her." Is that supposed to make it better?
And if you were Ms. Rielle Hunter how would you feel at hearing this? Like keeping your mouth shut?

If it's good news that is favorable to your side you want it to hit the MSM on Monday. That way the story will have legs through a couple of news cycles. If the news makes you or your cause look bad you want it to come out on Friday so the weekend can take the wind out of it. And if it runs against, say, the opening of the Olympics and a small war breaking out in Georgia, so much the better.
Not that Edwards would have planned it like that.

You gotta watch this video. Very cool!
Underwater Astonishments

I've got another game, but I'm not making any progress on the games I've posted recently so I'll wait until I've had more play time on those before giving you this one. But hey, thanks to all of you who have let me know how well you're doing! That's a real encouragement to me!
BTW, Shift 2 is out if you're interested. Google it.

Dinner's ready and I'm hungry. Carbo loading before tomorrow's LSD. Last week I ran out of oomph, so I'm going to eat a little more tonight, eat a good b'fast and make sure to have a Gu halfway through the ride.

I think you are right about some people not being able to swim. Twenty years ago my grandma decided she wanted to learn to swim. She went to the Y in Mason, MI. The beginner's course was 12 weeks long. After 3 classes + extra time w/the instructor it was determined that grandma could not float! Her body kept sinking to the bottom every time she attempted to swim w/o a floatie or life vest. The Y refunded her money. So don't feel bad, there are others like you!!
