Look up "culture clash" in the dictionary and they have this pic.When you look at it, with which side do you identify - the progressive or conservative?
Paulson has come up with a plan for rescuing our economy. He says it needs dramatic intervention. According to most people the guy has the background and expertise to know.
The Democrats hate it because it doesn't do enough for the average American, what they're calling "Main Street." The Republicans hate it because it's too interventionist, meddles with the free market economy and puts citizens on the hook for too much. So in today's hearings both sides of the aisle denounced Paulson's plan.
Must be a pretty good plan.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) sent a letter to Ben & Jerry's, the ice cream guys. They urged B & J to switch from cow's milk for their ice cream to breast milk. I lie not! They say it would lessen the abuse of cows and their calves.
There are SO many things wrong with this idea.
Today we discovered that a grasshopper has taken up residence in our living room. We named him David Carradine.
The plan was to sweat fit some 3/4" copper pipe today but I couldn't get the solder to draw. I suspected - and the gray hair at the Sun City Ace Hardware confirmed - that I can't get enough heat out of my propane torch for the surface area involved with 3/4" pipe. So I picked up a canister of MAP gas, which burns a lot hotter. I'll go back tomorrow and give it another try. But I admit to being a bit concerned about what can go wrong with that much heat coming out of a torch in a confined space. So if there isn't any post tomorrow night, you'll know why.
Isn't the new CBS show "The Mentalist" a knock-off of the USA Network's "Psych?" I thought the latter was a pretty dumb show (IMHO) so I'm not going to bother with the CBS version. At least Psych was meant to be camp.

I don't know what God has in store for Pathway Bible Church. We're going to continue to do our best and leave the results up to him, accepting whatever he sends as good and perfect (Rom. 12:2). But it will really surprise me if God doesn't grow this ministry beyond what he's already blessed us with. This is such a great group of people, and every experience I have with them reinforces that assessment. Simply could not ask for a better group.
I did 400m of the Wuss Stroke this afternoon. Given the level of exhaustion I felt at the end I know I couldn't have done it after a run & ride. But I have two months to reach that level.
Tomorrow is fartlek day. I enjoy that regimen. Sick, huh?

Both parties have a problem with Paulson’s plan (as we all should) because it gives unbridled, total authority to one person. Not a good idea. Other complaints are posturing. Oversight is essential in a democratic society. Responsibility should be accompanied by accountability. IMHO - your banker brother.
