It's people like you that make people like me look smart.

Boosting a car in Romania

We have a hummingbird feeder hanging from our patio cover. We see lots of hummingbirds, just none at the feeder. We do, however, have two large woodpeckers who drink from the feeder regularly. Then they fly around in wild circles.
Sugar high?

The stock market liked Geithner's "toxic assets" plan, jumping almost 500 points on a combination of the release of that plan and word that sales of existing homes rose 5.1% from January to February.
I don't understand the plan, despite hearing an explanation of it on NPR this morning and NBC news tonight. I was lost by the third sentence. But the financial gurus they had on NPR to provide analysis sure aren't impressed. They wondered why anybody would put up money to buy a bundle of junk mortgages from banks. The answer seems to be the $100 billion - yes, another b - that the govt. is ready to put up to cover the investors if things go south. And you know where they're getting that $100 billion.

This lady, an attorney, isn't so impressed with Mr. Geithner. Made me smile.

I've begun a final edit of the first year of the curriculum. Pastor Paul is helping me with it. We'll each go through three lessons per week and then compare notes in a Thursday phone call. I'll fix the things we find and then I think I'll be ready to turn the first year in.

Two Men, One Guitar

As long as we're on a video trend, here's one in which an F1 race car driver, Damon Hill, takes an automotive reporter out in a Mercedes Benz AMG to show him how well the car performs. Things don't go so well for the reporter, and the camera was rolling.
Hurling through the Turns

I'll start work tomorrow on Sunday's sermon - a challenging section on tap as we continue our work through 1 Corinthians. And for the second week in a row we'll have a special guest. This time it's Frosty Hansen. Frosty (his real name is Traynor but he's gone by Frosty since he was a toddler) and I grew up together in the same church in Seattle. We've known each other since before we were old enough to realize it. He's now the president of the Grace Gospel Fellowship, the association of churches that our home church and a hundred or so others are a part of. I'm anxious for Frosty to meet Pathway. I've bragged on these people to him, and he should meet them in person.
