Another productive day will mean an early bedtime tonight so the energy reserves are replenished for Sunday morning efforts.
He chose phrenology as a career path because he wanted to get ahead.
Am I the only one who thinks they should have to use a label or something to indicate which way the sheets go on a queen size bed? How do you tell the top from the side?
I washed Gerta this afternoon, but the whole time all I could think was, "I could do a much better job if only I had a Sham-Wow."
Back when I had my '59 Olds Pam used to say that I didn't wash it, I bathed it. So it's probably more accurate to say I gave Gerta a bath. The difference is drying.
Why don't cannibals eat divorced women?
A: Because they're bitter.
Yesterday I played the front nine on the executive course nearby. I got paired with a 76-year old man named Fred who is originally from Everett, WA. My grandfather's name was Fred and he lived in Everett, WA. But this guy didn't look a thing like my grandfather.
I want to ask President Obama a question. I want him to tell me when he thinks human life begins. It seems to me the only answer he can give is that life begins at birth. Any other answer means that late term abortions, which are fully legal and unrestricted, take a human life. Yet saying life begins at birth raises other logical conundrums. Natural birth is a process that can take several minutes. Does personhood begin when the baby's head is visible, or when the head has emerged, or when the entire child is outside the womb, or....? When does life begin if the birth happens by means of a C-section? Is it not human life in the minute before emerging from the womb? If so, why is someone who kills a mother and her fetus charged with double homicide? We don't so charge him if she loses a kidney; it's just murder. But if that's just tissue...?
In an answer given during one of the campaign debates Pres. Obama said the issue of when life begins was "above my pay grade." Well, sir, you got a promotion in late January, and it is now within not only your pay grade but clearly within your purview. I think we deserve an aswer from you.
At lunch today we were talking about the Bernie Madoff story. Steve pointed out that the investors paid taxes on investment income that never really existed. Why doesn't the govt. have to pay them back. If the situation was reversed we know what would happen.
As long as we're asking questions, why does the headline on both CNN.com and USATODAY.com mention that Donte Stallworth, the NFL wide receiver, was driving a Bentley this morning when he struck and killed a pedestrian? So far no charges have been filed; the authorities don't know if the pedestrian was crossing the street legally or jaywalking. But mentioning that Stallworth was driving a Bentley seems designed to put him in a bad light, to paint him as the careless rich dude who ran down a poor guy forced to walk to his destination. I think most pro athletes are overpaid, and if it turns out Stallworth was at fault he should get hammered by the law. But the mention of his Bentley seems irrelevant and therefore unfair.
So far I am not a fan of the new Facebook. If I wanted Twitter I'd have signed up for Twitter.
Maybe it will grow on me.
Gotta pull the last load out of the dryer before Pam gets home. I am such a good husband. Then it's time for supper, the meal that comes after dinner and before the bedtime snack. Tomorrow we're going to go digging in the middle of 1 Cor. 7 for some hidden gems, and in second hour put together a chronology of Paul's conversion. Wanna join us?
