"I believe in equality for everyone, except photographers and reporters." - Mahatma Ghandi

Busy day! First thing this morning I did all the printing, including an insert for our adult class. This week we're going to look at the five views for the origin of man, which can be placed on a continuum ranging from straightforward evolution to a very literal reading of Genesis. Which view(s) can be held by someone who accepts Scripture as God's Word?

I spent the rest of the morning working on Gerta. I got the right rear wheel disassembled and then replaced the axle seals and the wheel cylinder. I tried to replace the flexible brake line but the fitting wouldn't yield. I've sprayed it with PB Blaster (good stuff!) and I'll go back to it tomorrow morning.

From there to my bike ride. I'll miss a week's worth of riding when I'm up in Seattle but it's still worthwhile to do training rides now. If nothing else it burns up calories and keeps me from going completely soft.

This afternoon I hit a bucket of balls and then played nine holes. I get so upset with myself. One great shot followed by total hack. My muscles have Alzheimer's.
I hope it's not heresy, but I've been praying about Sunday. I'm totally outclassed with this group and have no delusions of being competitive. I just don't want to be an embarrassment or for the rest in our group to feel like they have to be patient.
Of course that only increases the stress, never a good thing when you're trying for a smooth swing.

Pam's netbook came today so late this afternoon I got it set up for her. I loaded Avira anti-virus software which the most recent issue of Consumer Reports rates as their top choice. And it's FREE! I also loaded Firefox and Skype (so we can video chat from across the room). Tomorrow I'll use more free software to scrub the hard drive on her old computer and then figure out how to dispose of the thing. What's the proper way to dispose of an old laptop?

Pam's mom is here for a visit. She was already here when I got back from Seattle and will still be here when I leave next week. But tonight Steve & Michelle took her to dinner so Pam and I used a gift card she won in a contest at work and went to Red Lobster. We both ate good food and paid under $5 (not incl. tip). It was nice to sit and visit, just the two of us. We talked about our camping trip later this summer. We are SO looking forward to it. At our elder meeting last week we talked about vacation time; we'd never set any amount. I told them we were going tent camping this summer and they looked at me like I was crazy. But given the choice between a luxury motel and a tent in the woods...no contest! You really should try it.

Now off to bed. Tomorrow's our church picnic and I'll be there early to make sure our reserved spot is unoccupied. Unfortunately, Pam has to work. Temps up around 93 with more of the same for Sunday's golf. Welcome to AZ! Drink plenty of liquids (Diet Coke).
Will I ride before I leave for the picnic? Probably not, but I have grand plans.

How does Avira compare with AVG?

I don't really know anything about Avira (or AVG) except that Consumer Reports ranked Avira as their top pick with a score of 65. AVG came in third with a score of 51. Microsoft Security Essentials was second at 54. All three are free.
