"There cannot be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full." - Henry Kissinger

When people from Sun City go back to work.

Pam comes home tomorrow morning. Not soon enough.

Sorry, Jen. Wax paper will also pull off the top layer of lasagna - at least this one. It does, however, contain the explosion. And it's a good thing the Times Square bomber didn't know about Costco lasagna or it would have been death and destruction everywhere. Good grief!

I read an article on Time.com about a study that found men are most easily manipulated after 6 p.m. Wow, really??? That sure surprises me!
The study was funded by a pharmaceutical company that makes birth control.

A few nights ago I asked if anyone knew about the braided leather necklaces so many of the baseball players seem to be wearing. Turns out they're not leather. They are nylon-coated titanium and they're made by a Japanese company called Phiten. Randy Johnson is credited with bringing the phenomenon to the States after he made an exhibition appearance in Japan. The claim is that they bring pain relief and enhance performance. (I'm assuming that's baseball performance. Then again, I've heard athletes are easily manipulated.)
C'mon, guys. You're making "dumb jock" way too easy.

Magic Johnson seems to be at least as good at business as he was a b'ball. And he was the BEST at b'ball. (Yes, that includes Jordan, who is showing himself to be a self-centered and small man.)

Juan Williams got fired by NPR yesterday and today signed a 3-year contract with Fox News for a reported $2 million. That's called landing on your feet!

I have the best job in the world.
I have NO patience with guys who complain about the trials and tribulations of being a pastor. I suspect that most who do are whiners engaging in classic passive-aggressive behavior and/or looking for special treatment. Sure, I had times when things got very, very difficult. Four years ago, in part because of a particularly tough stretch, I ran out of energy for the job. So I stepped out. God had a plan, I got a second wind, and now I'm back in it. But even at the bottom I never felt like being a pastor was anything but the greatest privilege and responsibility. I just couldn't give it what it deserves.

And the people are the best part.

Josh Hamilton is a class act, and having a great series. Even if I didn't hate the Yankees I'd root for the Rangers just because of Hamilton.

You gotta microwave stuff like lasagna in a bowl (like a cereal bowl) and then put a little plate over the top. No sticking that way.
