The soldier survived mustard gas and pepper spray. He's now a seasoned veteran.

Ah, Sunday nights. My favorite (or not).

I preached two sermons this morning, one right after the other and both in the same time slot. No wonder I'm tired.
Heilsgeschichte. Great word.

We talked about conflict resolution in second hour (Foundations). At the end I did a role play improv with Teri. Good cop/bad cop scenario about a husband who leaves his dirty clothes on the floor. The plan was for her to play the bad cop - do the things we'd talked about that escalate the conflict - and me to do the things that lead to resolution.
I got sliced, diced and otherwise taken apart with her opening salvo. We all agreed she left me no excuse for my behavior and I was a total slacker. "If you've got time to come out and watch Sports Center you've got time to take your clothes to the hamper."
Yes, ma'am!

Connor did a GREAT job reading Scripture in our worship service. He's 7.
After church I said "Hi" to Evan. He turned around and opened his arms for a hug. I think Evan is 5 and has autism.
And I talked with Sarah about doing something in our worship service next Sunday. We played push/pull while we talked. She's 7.
I had a great morning.

I'm worried about my dad's physical condition which doesn't seem to be getting better. And my mom's emotional condition because of the stress. Being this far away....

A couple of interesting links:

I think I'm coming down with a cold. Throat turning into a fat pack of sandpaper. Yuck.

[My mom just called. The diuretics seem to have kicked into gear this afternoon. That's a very positive sign and an answered prayer.]

American exceptionalism. Yes or no?

Why would they put a fabric roof on a stadium in a place where it snows that much?

79 degrees here today. Same for tomorrow. Sorry.
