Two silk worms had a race. They ended up in a tie.

I'm home. Happy to be here, but worried about dad. I called mom during my short layover in Salt Lake City and again when I landed here in Phoenix. The diuretic isn't working like it should. He doesn't seem to be any worse, but he's no better, either. I wish I could be two places at once, but I'm glad they're at the Ida Culver House instead of in their house. The dining room will send up meals for the next two or three days so they don't need to get down there. Dad often pushes mom in the wheelchair but he can't make the trip himself.

On Pam's work days this week she's come home on her lunch break to take Jack out to relieve himself. Today things were so busy on her floor that she couldn't get away and I didn't get home until 5:00. So I can't tell if Jack was glad to see me or if he'd have been that excited to see anyone who'd take him outside.
But I think he missed me. I choose to believe that, anyway. Because that means he lifted his leg on my chair out of anxiety over my absence and not just because his bladder was full.
Either way it feels kinda gross to sit here, even if it is dry now.

It wasn't my best-ever day of traveling. Out of five options I chose the TSA line with the trainee manning the scanner screen. I was one of about 75 travelers getting increasingly angry as we watched him and his trainer talk over each bag going through the x-ray machine, pointing at items inside and talking about them. It took FOREVER to get through that line.
Which may explain why I was in such a hurry to move on to my gate that I left my cell phone behind. That occurred to me after I was on the underground tram that takes passengers out to the Delta gates. I was REALLY disgusted with myself. Rode the tram around back to the main terminal and was very thankful the TSA agent could retrieve my phone.
I had a center seat on the flight to Salt Lake City and to my right was a very, very large guy. His shirt said "Notre Dame Football." I don't know if he played, but if he did it was not at wide receiver.
On the drive home from the airport I got caught in a traffic jam caused by a crash that closed a very busy intersection and the streets on all sides. It took an extra half hour getting home. But that frustration was mitigated by thinking about the people involved in that accident.
It can all end in an instant.

I started Robin Hood today so I'd have something to read on the plane. I hadn't time to download "Extraordinary Ordinary People" yet. The language is thee's and thou's, i.e. kind of King James, but it's an easy read. I'd describe it as a teen book if they can deal with the grammar and syntax, which really isn't difficult. Just an engaging story.

This is cool!
These Gears Really Work?

I was up early this morning, lost a time zone hour and have lots to do tomorrow. So this post is content thin but I'm runnin' on fumes here. I'll do better tomorrow night.
