"Before I got married I had six theories about bringing up children; now I have six children and no theories." - John Wilmot

I just watched the Seahawks pull out a very improbable win over last year's Super Bowl champs. That's a nice thing to happen on a Saturday evening.

At the same time, the greater Phoenix area is stunned by the shooting in Tuscon earlier today. Among the dead, a 9-year old girl. Sad.

I've put the left lens back in my glasses at least six times today. I don't know why it keeps falling out but it's annoying. I have an appointment at the eye doctor's Monday morning and it will probably take a week to get any new glasses in hand. This could get old. My biggest concern is getting through tomorrow.

As a kid in church I listened to Carl Kristerson, half aloud with his thick Swedish accent, say, "T'ank you, Fadder." I've shared that memory and used that phrase in my churches over the years and it's appeared here in this blog. (It's not the same in print, kind of like tomato and tomato.)
We're praying diligently for a dear little 4-year old who is hospitalized in CA where dad is stationed. Mom and daughter attended Pathway two years ago when he was stationed here at Luke AFB. She's very sick and has been through several surgeries this week, with mom keeping us updated through posts on Facebook. As part of today's post she mentioned that she's said "T'ank you, Fadder" several times. That made me smile big, as you can probably understand. I'll bet Carl smiled, too.

I'm tipping my hand a bit re. my lesson in the morning (we're starting a series on the 10 Commandments) but I'll ask it here now anyway. Is there any significance to the order of the ten? They clearly come in two groups of ____ and ____, the first set having to do with _____ and the second with ______. Within those two sets is the order significant? Is there any reason that the third one couldn't just as easily have been fourth? Or the fifth one tenth?

Not everything that can be done should be done. But judging from the rest of the stuff this place sells (they have a storefront in Seattle) I think it's tongue-in-cheek.

Seahawk win Saturday "evening"!??! You definitely belong in Sun City West. What was AZ time at game's end - 6:25PM?? You must have had the jammies on, teeth soaked, & pills taken by that late in the evening. :-)
