The player with the highest career home runs total is a convicted felon who used steroids. The top six single-season home run totals are held by three men, all of whom used steroids. You have to go back to 1961 to find a single-season record holder who was clean (Roger Maris). The AL strikeout leader used steroids.
America's game.
I sent our income tax check off to the Feds today. It seemed like the least I could do.
Am I the only one who thinks Libya is a hopeless mess?
And who also doesn’t understand what we’re trying to accomplish in Afghanistan? What is the goal, and how will we know when we’ve reached it?
While we’re at it, what’s happening in Iraq these days? Are we still there, and if so, what are we doing? ‘cause we don’t hear anything about that anymore.

I made a to-do list this morning because I had so many tasks to get done. I lost the list at some point before noon. Seemed like the best way to avoid feelings of failure and guilt tonight.
I got the final transfer of funds for Gerta via PayPal this morning, minus their cut. I went to UPS and sent the title and one key back to the buyer in PA and tomorrow I'll deliver the other key and the car to an auto transport company across town. That will conclude the transaction.
This sermon is proving to be a challenge to put together. The narrative about the brothers reuniting with Joseph in Egypt spans a good three chapters - too much for a sermon. But there are no clear breaks in the story that allow it to be divided into obvious sections for multiple sermons.
I've been using one of those 4-color pens lately as I study. For these chapters I've been underlining key sentences in the chapters that need to be noted for the sermon to make sense. Like the verse that says after watching his brothers bow down to him, the unrecognized Joseph recalled the dreams he had as a teenager predicting just that event.
The problem is that I have more underlined verses than not, and the pages involved look like a crayon box exploded.
Did you know you can rent movies through iTunes? I had no idea! I Googled "Double Jeopardy" last night to see if it worked for my sermon intro and saw a listing on iTunes. Rent it for $2.99 and buy it for $9.99. They also have "Dolores Claiborne." Two great movies!
Q: what do they have in common with the reunion section at the end of Genesis?
Given the sorry state of prime time TV these days I might just start using iTunes to watch some classic movies.
Wouldn't it be great fun to have lunch with somebody like Joseph? His life story would make a great book.
