Took out Ilsa's rear window this morning. That was a little spooky, given that I was doing it alone without any support on the inside of the car. Do not want to drop a 50-year old piece of original German glass.
Despite repeated treatments with an algaecide the pond looks more like pea soup than water. I put those goldfish in 10 days ago but they might have climbed out and walked away for all I can tell. Can't see more than 6" down. So this afternoon I went up to Lowe's and bought a UV filter. They aren't cheap but they're supposed to be the ultimate solution to an algae problem. It seems UV light kills algae. So now the water goes from my filter through a black plastic case about 4" in diameter with a UV light on the inside. Live algae enters one end and dead algae comes out the other. That dead algae then gets caught in the filter element, and round and round it goes. Or so the instructions tell me. I can't see dead algae in the outflow tube but I don't know that I'm supposed to. I've read that in about 5 days I'll have crystal clear water, so we shall see.
Why did Safari suddenly change the bars across the top to a weak bluish color?
And how did I just get it back to gray?

My head is totally in tomorrow morning. We're going to do a few things differently so I'm wrapped up in my message and lesson, as usual, but also the slightly modified logistics. So no significant thoughts tonight.
