"Some editors are failed writers, but so are most writers." - T.S. Elliot

We stopped at Chipotle for lunch after church and then the kids came over to help me with Ilsa. This is what she looked like before they arrived. (You can click any of these to enlarge.) All the glass is out except the passenger door and windshield. All the trim is off, as are the little parts like turn signals and the license plate light. The bolts that hold body and frame together have been removed as have all the electrical connections.

Last week I built this stand, based on a design Ken Farmen came up with. He's a friend and pastor in Port Orchard, WA who's restoring a '69 convertible. I saw his stand in pictures on Facebook and realized what a great idea it was. I asked and he sent me the dimensions. The casters allow for easy movement.

Then it's just a matter of putting one person at each wheel well and "LIFT!" Steve and I were at the back fenders and Josh and Aubri at the front. (She's very strong.) Picked the body straight up and carried it straight back to the stand. Then we rolled the body into the space on the other side of the garage, across from the frame & pan assembly. Now I can easily finish up work on the body, moving it so I have space where I need, and then work easily on the pan and frame when the time comes. Before that happens I'll pull the engine and put it on the engine stand now up by the workbench.

THANK YOU to my great crew!
(Note: Michelle was our photographer and took video I'll post when we can get it from their camera to my laptop)

I mentioned last night that we were doing some things differently this morning. I think it worked, although I'm probably not the best person to ask. Again, I appreciate the freedom we have at Pathway to  step outside the box. (I'm not sure we have a box.)

Here's a very brief article I read this morning before leaving. It was on CNN.com's front page but has since been replaced. This woman expects us to take her seriously? I'm thinking she's never been in church or she'd know that it's about a LOT more than just the sermon. We worship together. It's about giving God his due. We do that through singing, through listening to Scripture read, through giving our offerings....
I also wondered if, had she been around when the printing press began churning out copies of the Bible in the language of the people, she would have written the same article.

I don't like the Chicago Bulls, particularly Joaquim Noah who has a rep as one of the dirtiest players in the NBA. But the enemy of my enemy is my friend, so GO BULLS!
