"Man who make mistake in elevator wrong on many levels." - Chinese Proverb
I'm at that awkward age. I'm young enough to do something like hang and mud drywall for five hours but old enough that I can't move the next day.
FedEx delivered the special paint this morning - the rust encapsulator and two rattle cans of chassis black. Meanwhile I spent about two more hours cleaning things up in preparation for that paint. Most of the disassembly process is pretty straightforward but today involved some slightly scary steps. I took out the pedal cluster which meant disconnecting the clutch cable. It runs through a tube inside the tunnel down the center of the car, and allowing that to disappear back in there (it's under tension) means all kinds of trouble! Same with the throttle cable (different tube, same tunnel) but it's not under tension.
Assuming I've got everything anchored and secured I'm probably within two hours of painting, mostly just wiping everything down with paint thinner to remove any residual tar. So perhaps early next week...
When we bought the new bedspread two or three months ago it came tightly packaged and the fold lines were very visible when we put it on the bed. I asked Pam if it needed to be ironed and she said no, that it would relax.
I think it's time to play the Kenny G.
You should have heard the gal on the news tonight trying to say "particulates" in her bit about the smoke from the fires here.
Sometimes the (local) church is given the opportunity to act out the commitment of community. Doing so is a joy, but something in me doesn't want to make too big a deal out of it lest we think of it as something extraordinary. It is what should be.
Pam was correct. Rep. Weiner is going into treatment. He's sick.
Did you hear that Fox TV news, while running a story on Sarah Palin, put up a picture of Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin?
Sometimes I wish I could just preach on Sunday mornings. I'd probably be irritated with the absence of the teaching opportunity but it would allow me to focus on a single delivery. But for now I'm going to go over my slides.
