"The best time to plant an oak tree was twenty-five years ago. The second best time is today." - James Carvilee

Buy a house from her and you can count on weeds in the front yard.

Quick post before bedtime. The plan is to rise early to be on the road and across the worst of the desert before it's too hot. The goal is Sacramento or just short of there before I call it a day. If I do make it to Sac it would be 750 miles and make Thursday much easier. The drive up through central CA is the definition or BORING but it's the shortest and fastest way to the Pacific Northwest.

I'm one of those who has followed the Casey Anthony trial. I enjoy the courtroom part of law and have often thought that if I weren't in the ministry I'd enjoy being a trial lawyer. It's the head-to-head battle of the wits and tongue.
The jury found her not guilty. She may or may not be innocent of the charge of murder. But having followed the trial one thing is clear; that is a pretty dysfunctional family and it's only going to get worse. Her lawyers accused her father of sexually abusing Casey. Her mother clearly committed perjury during the trial. Her brother is angry at his parents and his sister.
I can't imagine how that family unit will function from this point. How does dad relate to a daughter who allowed him to be accused of sexually abusing her? Mom and dad know whether or not she's guilty. He's a retired cop. What does he do with his wife's perjury?
This is the stuff of a Steinbeck novel.

It's fun to watch the lights come on and the fire take hold.

Time to crash. (that's probably not the best figure of speech at this point, huh?)
Next post from Sacramento!!
