"The big thieves hang the little ones." - Czech Proverb

Hanging with the folks. We met at 8 for b'fast in the dining room and left there at 9:30. A leisurely pace is the rule, understandable when you're 88. The rest of the morning was spent...
I'm not sure what we did except for go down to their storage unit looking for the waffle iron. In the process dad and I uncovered some old photographs of family and church activities that provided some grins. Included was a photo of a music class my mom was in at the age of 9. I learned that her parents, my maternal grandparents had a black Cocker Spaniel named.... Well, let's just say it was a very un-PC name by contemporary standards. Did they really do that back then??
We agreed we cannot picture what Kathy would look like at 62, or any older than she was at 22 when she and Don died. Even in two dimensional pictures you can feel the power of her personality.

Pam's struggling with her cold and laying low today in order to optimize down time before we hit the tent camping circuit tomorrow afternoon. We had talked about the requisite trip to the Ballard Locks and fish ladder but it will have to wait until the next trip. That is a must-see for anyone in the Seattle area.

For those of us who have watched Andre Agassi play tennis and live life in all its possibilities for good and evil, this article is touching.

Don't know for sure when the next post will be. Might not be online again until Monday. Tomorrow the plan is to go to church, a quick lunch and then the 4-hour drive south to Fort Stevens State Park. By the time we get camp set up and some grocery shopping done... But we'll have pics of the extreme NW corner of Oregon, a beautiful spot by any standard. The ocean, the Mighty Columbia, Astoria, evergreen forests, all out the front door of our tent.
