"A learned blockhead is a greater blockhead than an ignorant one." - Benjamin Franklin
I have no business writing a post tonight. The chances of saying something stupid, or worse, are far too great. But I'm past the point where even that minimal measure of common sense can hold me back.
By the standards of the preacher's assessment it was an interesting morning. The sermon was not a type I find within my natural wheelhouse, and five minutes in it was off the rails. From that point on I was working without a net. (Just how many metaphor can I get into this paragraph?) I have no idea if I hit the mark (there's one more) but at this point the water is over the bridge (no, wait...) so I'm trying to let it go.
Second hour we began our next unit in the Critical Issues series, so it was mostly introductory matters. But I think it's going to be an interesting set of discussions.
I spent my afternoon redoing one of the assignments from Week One of this class. I made some kind of mistake getting it posted the first time around, so it never showed up. Aaargh. I've been at this software for three weeks and don't feel like I have even a beginner's grasp of how it works. I have a phone conversation with the instructor set up for sometime tomorrow (specific time not yet determined) when I hope to see light bulbs go off.
I will work on the truck tomorrow. My sanity requires it. I will remove some pieces and clean others. By the end of the day I will be able to point to at least one thing I accomplished successfully.
I am not a NASCAR fan. But some of my best friends are.
The Daytona 500 was run today, but got interrupted for some time because of a tornado warning. Or something like that. I was back redoing a homework assignment. During the break Fox TV aired footage of last year's race.
Apparently a whole bunch of people watching on TV didn't realize they were watching last year's race. You can read their live Tweets of the race here. It didn't occur to any of them that it was just too bizarre for Danica Patrick to be in exactly the same position two year in a row.
Yeah, I'm not a NASCAR fan.
Time for some paleo brownies from the pan and then BED.
