My mouth hurts. And while I'm no dentist I suspect, based on what it looks like, that I have a dead tooth and an infection in the gum around it. The rest of my body is beginning to feel like that infection may be spreading.
This is not good.
My dentist's office normally gets people in who have a problem on the same day, but he has jury duty today. The first available is tomorrow at 4 p.m., by which time he'll be an hour or so behind.
Survival.

Here's a pic of what the truck looks like now. I could have posted this last night except for that little problem where I sat on my camera. Today I remembered I can take pics with the iPad, transfer them to my laptop, and then upload them.
The next step is to take off all the things bolted to the engine, and then pull it out.
In the process of doing this work I'm finding things that are amiss, like the missing front motor mounts and two of six manifold clamps. Turns out nobody is making the mounts anymore, just their rubber inserts. But through the forum dedicated to early Chevy trucks I found a guy in Texas who has a pair he'll sell me along with the manifold clamps. We've talked on the phone, agreed on a price, and he'll let me know about shipping costs when he has that figure. I'll send a check, he'll send the parts. Score!
Yesterday before she left for work Pam set up the crock pot and I turned it on at 11:00. Last night at about 6:30 we sat down to "Scrumptious Chicken." Except that we both agreed it was "Acceptable Chicken." Edible, to be sure, but unremarkable and not worth repeating.
If you could learn and master any skill in the world, what would it be?
Time for some more Ibuprofen.
