We talked about parenting in both hours at Pathway yesterday morning and this pic struck me as having potential in that endeavor. Keep one of these handy to wave in the air when your kid asks permission to do something ridiculous.
If I were in the market for a new or a used car I wouldn't have a GM product on my list. OK, maybe if it was 55 years old, but within the last 10 years?? If they are just now issuing safety recalls for nameplates they haven't made in years, and if (since) it now seems clear they withheld information about design failures that resulted in over 300 deaths, why should I have any confidence that the car I'm buying from them is safe and reliable?
Yeah, that federal bailout with its retroactive immunity is looking like a great idea.
MLB season openers were held today. I didn't watch a game on TV but I did take a nap, which is pretty much the same thing.
Our normal high for this date is 80, we hit 85, and the humidity was (is) 7%. You know how in places were it gets really cold they say if you spit it freezes before it hits the ground? Here it just disappears. Evaporates.
I pretty much shut down this afternoon. I hustled this morning with grand plans for the day but by the time I finished lunch my body announced it, too, was finished. I putzed a bit this afternoon on some chores in the back - pruned the oleander, watered the roses, filled the lily pond - my mostly I sat.
In addition to extra duties yesterday morning that left me feeling gratified but spent, I had hustled all of Saturday to be ready for yesterday afternoon. You can see the milestone in a video version.
By mid-morning I had everything loaded and tied down, and hauled it to "The Stripping Shop." I'll get it all back sometime next week media blasted down to bare metal. But now I can begin working in earnest on the chassis. After the frame has rec'd a thorough cleaning using a wire brush attachment on my angle grinder it will get a coat of special paint that chemically neutralizes any remaining rust and prevents more from forming. Then I'll do the suspension and drive train work. But more on that at a later time.
It's Monday night, which means deciding between "Fifth Gear" on BBCAmerica or "The Voice" on NBC. So far Pam's busy trying to figure out her new FitBit that arrived today. So I'm watching a review of the new Mercedes AMG SLS Black.

A) I think you weren't needed to put the body on the trailer - Josh could have handled it all by himself.
B) I think you should adjust your pics on the side to show the VW for sale and post a pic of the pickup in its "just acquired" state.
A) I'm pretty sure you're right. He just wanted to make me feel good.
B) Good idea.
