"To be an ideal guest, stay at home." - E.W. Howe

Olio

What is a "sneaking suspicion?" A suspicion that came up on you quietly from behind?

On the way home there's a telephone pole with professionally produced matching signs stapled to it. One advertises "Beer Fest," and right below it, "Tattoo Festival."
Doesn't seem like the ideal combination to me.

Today I learned that it's possible to apply enough torque via a 30" breaker bar with a 3' pipe over the end of it to snap a 1/2"-to-3/8" adapter pretty much in half. That was not enough torque, however, to break the nut loose.

They used castle nuts in a variety of places on a '59 truck. None of them are named Jo Ann.

A month ago we got new phones. I still can't figure out most of the limited stuff we do on a smart phone. In today's mail we got the new remote for our DirectTV system that will also control our TV. I can't remember how I set up the now-broken remote to do that - it was too long ago - so I started reading through the 36-page User Guide that came with it. I got bored by page 4.
It's just the #2 key that stopped working. Would it be completely lame to use the old one that also controls the TV for almost everything and only use the new one for changing to channels that involve the #2 button?

OK, more gaullimaufry than olio, but it's what you get and all I got.
Pics tomorrow night.

Yes, in your instance, 2 remotes is lame (hey, you asked). Table of Contents show page where setting the remote is addressed. Press 2 buttons simultaneously, enter your TV manufacturer's 4-digit code &, voila, you're good to go. Easy-Shmeezy.
