"He has Van Gogh's ear for music." - Billy Wilder

A lady in Sweden is pretty upset about what she discovered in her church basement, IKEA bags full of skeletons. Bones, skulls, everything you need for a complete skeleton, 80 in all. But just pictures for how to put a Kjlskr together.

(It seems the centuries-old church is undergoing a restoration and archeologists were called in the exhume and store the skeletons until they could be reburied. Then they discovered they couldn't remove the bones from church grounds so they grabbed what they had handy.

Last night we watched some of the Auctions America car auction from Burbank. OK, I watched while Pam read her book. It was outstanding, mostly because Jay Leno was one of the announcers. The word encyclopedic is no hyperbole when it comes to his knowledge of anything remotely related to things automotive, and he's a funny guy even when ad libbing. "That car is a little like a codpiece. It promises something grand, but when you get it out on the road you'll be disappointed."
Can you say that on TV??

I got one of the front fenders sanded this morning. I'm down to smaller pieces now that the cab and bed are done (with this step) so it feels like I'm making real progress.

In between the 100 grit and the 120 grit Pam and I went up the hill for breakfast. We had some stuff to talk through and it worked to sit in a booth over a too-expensive plate of eggs and BACON.
We'll celebrate our 44th anniversary this week. I like that, in part because we long ago arrived at a place where we work issues, even tough ones, together as one. It's not that we agree on everything; we often have different perspectives and views. But it's like two people stranded on a South Sea island; we know each other pretty darn well, know we're going to be together until one of us is dead, and so have as our first priority the strength of the union. The outcomes of the decision process are usually way less important than the process itself, and our unity once it's reached.
We came back and I did the 120 grit, then the 180. By then it was 10:00, hot, and humid. Time to come inside.

It's probably the same where you live - politicians pulling out all the stops in hopes of getting elected...in November. Yep, we've got over three months of this left to go. I saw on ad on TV today that accused a candidate of being everything this side of ax murderer, with no mention of what he was running for or who was running against him (and paid for the ad). I only know he's a candidate because it said he wasn't qualified to lead.
Neither is the guy who's behind that ad.
