"It's always too early to quit." - Norman Vincent Peale

I hate card #6
Josh made me a series of 3x5 cards, about 20 in all, each with a workout on them. It's usually two or three exercises done in a specified number of reps for a specified number of cycles. Monday through Friday I take the top card off the stack as I had out the door to the gym. (Never look at the card before you leave or you won't go.) I do a warmup routine that involves jumping rope, sit-ups, and some time on the exercise bike, and/or rowing machine, and/or treadmill, and then I do whatever is on the card.
Today was card #6.
Do 15 lunge steps with 25 lbs. held overhead, then do 21 burpees.
Do that 4 times.
Then go home. and. die.

The engine is now under a plastic cover. I put new points and condenser in the distributor this morning, something I haven't done in decades. Let's just say I'm no speed demon at that process, but it's done. I then took some misc. interior parts to the metal shop and media blasted them so they're ready for priming along with the body.

On the way to the shop I stopped by to see Charlie and his two '67 Jaguar XKE's. Oh my.
The convertible looks ready to roll but he's got some maintenance to do on it. I sat inside (ahhhhh) and was struck by how tight the interior is, and that the nose is invisible because of that loooong hood slope. He said that when he has it running he'll bring it down so I can take it for a spin.
YESSSSSS.
The 2+2 is in primer, up on blocks, and the interior gutted. He plans to finish that restoration and keep it while selling the vert.
More stories. Fascinating.
He's driven Nurburgring in a TR3.
He says the 240Z is week but the 260Z will scoot.

In anticipation of spraying the body with primer I ordered a new driver's side door. The one that came with the truck had sprung hinges that someone had tried to repair with a grinder. I dunno. It was beyond repair so a repop is the solution. They ain't cheap, but the shipping was the killer. I called four different vendors and found one in Las Vegas that will ship for about half the cost of the others.
It comes in a primer but I'll spray it with the stuff I'll use and then sand it down. The good news: this one comes predrilled for latch and mirror and is made from steel as thick as the original (thick!).

This was my stock Monday; I studiously avoided doing anything church related. I needed the break. Actually, I need more than a Monday break. Which is why I'm taking a
ROAD TRIP!
I'll leave after church on the 26th and drive up to Seattle to see my folks for a few days. It's a 22-hour drive and I'm hoping to be there for dinner Monday night. (Might not make that.) Then I'll take a more relaxed trip home.
I wish Pam could go with me, but the time spent driving up the central CA valley and then through OR and WA with books on CD and the solitude of whatever rental car I end up with will serve to restore the spirit. And a four day visit with the folks at the turn-around will be a blessing.
