"Never put a sock in a toaster." - Eddie Izzard

I have to leave for a meeting in about 30 minutes so this will be brief.

I had a wonderful time this morning. Had Second Breakfast with an old friend. She's not old, but we've known each other for a couple of decades or more, haven't had the opportunity to connect for several years, and had one of those conversations that was much easier and deeper than that hiatus would suggest. As I told someone else we both care deeply about, it's only Tuesday but I expect the 90 minutes or so we spent together this morning to come in as the highlight of my week.

I stopped at NAPA on the way home, got the correct fitting, and spent 20 minutes before dinner making the connection from the tank to the fuel line running up the right side of the frame. Now everything from the tank to the carb is complete. Next stop: from the pedal to the carb. Almost all of that linkage was missing when I got the truck, and what's there has to be re-made from scratch because I changed the exhaust headers and the stock setup no longer works. More fabrication. But this new-to-me part of a restoration is a challenge I'm enjoying.

Did you hear about the Russian ruble? It's worth 1/2 of what it was at the beginning of the year and has dropped 25% in the last month. This due to the crash in crude prices, the largest part of Russian's revenue, and the effect of the sanctions resulting from their invasion of Ukraine.
You've to a problem, Vlad. And it's gonna get worse.

One more Christmas sermon. One more. One.

OK, time to get my stuff together and head out. Won't be home until after my bedtime so I'll have to make up for it in tomorrow's post.
