Women can actually hear when their husband roll their eyes over the phone.

You take your classic 60's Mustang to a shop to have some work done and get it back the next day with everything looking good. What you are never told is what happened when the tech pulled it into the service bay.

Pandora needs a white noise channel that I could use when I'm in a coffee shop and want to block out the noise of surrounding conversations but also don't want the distraction of the music that draws me in and diverts my fragile focus. Forest sounds, surf, spouse talking...
(Sorry. That was too easy to pass up.)

I went back to the dentist this afternoon. He opened it up, shot bleach in there (it apparently kills any remaining nerve tissue), did some other stuff (??) and closed it back up. It's still tender but I'm going to assume that's bruising of the gums. Deal with it. I told Pam, if it's not better by next Wednesday I'll go back, but until then....

I got a piece of mail today encouraging me to sign up for a prearranged cremation service.
On New Year's Eve.
There's a buzz kill.

I'm not staying up until midnight, not even midnight EST.
My paternal grandfather grew up in Nova Scotia in a family that had some generations earlier immigrated from Scotland. I might make it to midnight AST (Atlantic Standard Time) in Halifax, which would be 9 p.m. here. I'll hold one of our over-ripe bananas overhead, drop it, say,"woo-hoo," and call it good.

It's cold here, 42 outside now, headed down to 29 overnight. Lows stay there for the next four nights with highs only getting into the low 50's. Yeah, I know much of the country would love to have temps like that, and I do appreciate that this unseasonably cold stretch involves none of the snow we dealt with for 17 years in Michigan. But if we're going to get through this without turning on the heat it's gonna get tough. The house is at 65 now, we'll drop a couple of degrees overnight, and tomorrow's "partly cloudy" doesn't bode well for warming things up with sunshine through the windows.
We fought over who would clean up after supper. We both wanted to hold our hands under the hot water in the sink.

By next Tuesday we're back in the low 70's. Can we make it sans heat??
