"Life is a long lesson in humility." - James M. Barrie

Ernest Hemmings died. As in Hemmings Motor News. Gold.

I had lunch today with an friend we've known since the late 70's. Met at a Mexican restaurant north of the valley because it's between our homes. I think I found my next ride.

(It's a Ferrari)

If you saw the news story about the runaway llamas in Sun City, as usual the media took the easy route. There are no llamas in Sun City, a place with gravel "yards" (see below) and people who are an average of 83 years old. The critters were brought to an assisted living center as part of a "pet therapy" program and the llama farmer let them get away from him.

From today's reading in Whatever Happened to Penny Candy (with a nod to friend Sue who told me I should NOT be putting the book's title in quotation marks, but italicizing it instead):

"Inflation is an increase in the amount of money. When the amount of money goes up, the value goes down. When the value goes down, people need more of it. Rising prices are not inflation; they are a result of inflation. The wage/price spiral is a result, not a cause, of inflation."

Maybe I'm the only one who didn't know that. As he has explained it - perfect sense.

THE best part of my day:

One of the reasons governments inflate the money supply is to devalue long term debts and obligations. That's the nefarious part of inflation.
