Wow! Hillary Clinton has declared she's running for President.
Didn't see that one coming.
The Pope used the word genocide to describe the slaughter of Armenians by Turks during WWI. That's a big deal because even though it happened 100 years ago it remains a source of official animosity between the two groups as well as cultural conflict. The govt. of Turkey has expressed its outrage at his description.
NPR did a story on it over the weekend and described the documentation from official Turkish documents of the time making clear that their goal was systematic elimination of Armenians based on their ethnicity.
Howard Bender has developed a new product, beef bacon. He calls it schmacon.
The question: why??
I wanted Phil to win the Masters and he fell just short. But I was sure impressed with his post-tourney interview. He was full of smiles and compliments for 21-year old Jordan Spieth who won with record scores. Michelson talked about what fine golfer he was, but also that he was a great young man and a joy to be around.
I couldn't help but contrast that with Rory McIlroy's comments, who gave a passing acknowledgement of Spieth's game, but mostly talking about his round today.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it's sure easy to see why Phil is a crowd favorite.
I worked hard this morning, both hours. From a technical standpoint I think it went well, but that's never the measure of a sermon or lesson's worth. It can be spot on by all critical criteria yet completely miss the mark in people's hearts and lives.
And I have no clue how that part went.
