"The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings." - Eric Hoffer

(from a friend's Facebook page)

More good conversation and some off the books learning. Today's sessions get an average of C, with one relatively promising one left.

I'll be out of the Norders' early in the morning for my 6 a.m. flight to Seattle via O'Hare in Chicago. Yeah, I'm not thrilled about that connection airport, but it's what I could get. I'm eager to see Pam, who will arrive in Seattle one hour ahead of me. We've got a lot to catch up on.

The Clinton financial story continues to unfold and gets more interesting by the day. When you read about it on Slate you know the liberal wing of the party is getting nervous.

It's hard to eat healthy, never mind paleo, on the road. College cafeteria food leans heavily toward starch and carbs. We're not legalistic about the diet so I'm not conscience stricken, but my digestive system notes the disruption. The good news: I managed to have BACON for two of yesterday's three meals.

Will someone please invent the transporters (can't remember what they were called) that they used on Star Trek to instantly get from one location to another? I have the desire, but neither the time nor the money to go see all the people I'd like to.
'cause the people are the best part.

OK, that's about it. In a few minutes I've got to get back to the college for the fancy meal they always do on Thursday night and then the evening session. But noon tomorrow I'll be at my folks' with siblings and spouses. Good stuff.
