"The uglier a man's legs are the better he plays golf. It's almost a law." - H.G.Wells

I had everything set up when I went to bed last night and just had to pull it out into the driveway, which I did at 5 a.m. By 5:30 (sunrise was at 5:20) I fired up the air compressor and had the sealer coat coming out of the gun as soon as it was up to pressure. By 9 a.m. it was 93 degrees but I had the sealer, both colors, and a clear coat sprayed. I worked as fast as I could and still do things carefully. Part of that care was making sure the masking between spraying the darker color, Pioneer Beige, and the lighter, Bombay Ivory, was without any gaps.

I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. And for reasons I can't identify the clear coat went on with almost no orange peel. In the next day or two I'll roll it back out into the daylight for a careful look, but I may not do the whole color sanding routine I've done on other body panels.

That three and a half hours felt like eight in terms of the energy it took out of me. The process is physical, but it's also stressful, in part because I don't feel confident about my skills. Yeah, I didn't get a whole lot done the rest of the day. And we hit 107 by mid-afternoon, a disincentive to getting anything done outside.

I did go through a bunch of files in the office, part of the culling process in preparation for our move. Threw out a bunch of papers I never should have kept in the first place. Pam and I are chipping away at the task, hoping it's all done three months from now when it's time to list the house.

Have you seen the TV ad for the new Samsung wash machine with the tub on top for pre-washing things? What they don't tell you is that it will run you $1,000 to buy that puppy. I'm pretty sure a laundry tub is cheaper.

I called an audible for dinner tonight; we went out for gluten free pizza at Barro's. While there I decided to ditch the sermon I'd prepped for tomorrow and do something completely different. So as soon as we got home I went to work. We'll know in about 14 hours if that was a huge mistake.
