The Aussies run their own Tour de Australia down under.
Yesterday I cut down two more of the dead Alder trees on the other side of the creek. I cut them into logs about 8' long, shorter if they were the thick ones near the base of the tree, and then carried them the 50 yards to the road. Today I'll load them into the Kia and bring them back to MoHo for cutting into 18" pieces for splitting.
At one point I saw something move on the ground and looked down to see a small black bat. I figure he was probably asleep in the tree when I dropped it. He didn't look to be injured so I'm assuming his problem had to do with being exposed to the bright sun. I put a curved piece of bark over him hoping that when it got dark he could crawl out and go about his mosquito-eating business.
I also spent several hours yesterday working on the truck, trying to get the ignition switch replaced. I'll spare you the details but this task is not going well. (Note the present tense verb.) I hope to have the new switch fully installed before today ends. That's important because I pulled the truck out of Barnette to work on it and want to get it back in before the rain starts tonight.
Donald Trump can't get out of his own way. His ego is so big that, when given a lobbed softball to hit over the fence, he spends an hour talking about himself and Saddam Hussein. How can you get a gift like Hillary gave him and make a mess of it?
His advisors must be pulling their hair out.
I didn't watch the rest of the Roger Federer match because he lost the first two sets so badly. Oh, dopey me!
We'll have a special guest for lunch today. Sheila's coming to Baker Rd. for a visit. She was an important part of Pathway and is in OR visiting her family. She was here a year ago when we were working on the place, getting it ready to move in October, so I'm curious to see what she thinks of the changes. It will be good to see her. Pic tomorrow?
I'm going to hose the chicken poop off the deck so we can eat lunch there when she comes.
Rural living.
OK, my post is written and I've got four hours before the higher rate kicks in. How 'bout some Wimbledon coverage on ESPN?
