"There are never enough 'I love you's'" - Lenny Bruce
Put 150 people in an aluminum tube that recirculates the same air over and over and over for four and a half hours and nobody should be surprised if they come down with a nasty cold. I think I'll be dead by tomorrow morning.
We will be avoiding Delta Airlines from now on. They've got this new strategy where if you buy your ticket on one of the "cheapest tickets" sites (I used Kayak) you can't get a seat assignment until you get to the gate. On the 4+ hour flight from Detroit to Portland we were in the very last row (#36, A & B) despite the fact I bought early and checked in online within 5 minutes of receiving that email.
Also, as of Monday their mileage plan agreement with Alaska Airlines is ending. We have one credit card - an Alaska card through B of A - so we can take advantage of their very good mileage program. American Airlines is still a partner with Alaska and goes almost everywhere Delta goes.
Never mind the surly gate attendant we had in Deetroit.
Bye-bye, Delta.
The goats missed us. The H.S. kid across the road came over twice a day to feed and water, but he doesn't give any attention beyond that. I had to do some repair work in the barn to fix the damage Sundae did getting in the area meant only for the younger two and all three of them were right by me the whole time. As soon as I'd leave the pen, even to just get a tool, they'd bellow until I came back.
Awww.
I think there's probably more, but at this point I don't care. It's late enough in the day that my cold has me in a death grip and it's all I could muster to heat up a cup of coffee. So any profundity will have to wait until at least tomorrow.
