I did a theatrical performance about puns. It was a play on words.
A guy here in Eugene was arrested for sexual abuse of a chicken.
You read that right, a chicken.
I have NO idea.
Yesterday's high was 81 and today's 55. When I came in from working at 4 p.m. I lit a fire in the wood stove, the first in four days. I'd wondered if we were done with the need for heat, but it was 64 in here and would only go down from there, so a small fire quickly got it up to 73.
I worked outside all day on what we've dubbed the Asante Memorial Birthing Center at the Boerdom Home for Wayward Goats. Does need a quiet space away from other goats for their labor and kidding, and the same isolation for a couple of weeks as they raise their kids. Goats are incredibly inquisitive and will poke their nose into anything they think might be interesting, so this addition will provide Sundae that seclusion she needs.
The next step is the 10' rafters and I still need to get them. Once they're up I can frame the end wall and then put on the roof and cedar siding. The wall between the two areas will get cut down to 4' and a gate installed so Sundae can get in and the gate closed behind her. That gate will have an opening in it similar to a doggie door so that once the kids are weaned (3 months) they'll be able to get in there for alfalfa on demand but the other goats can't.
Assuming the June 20 date is the correct date for kidding that weaning will come about the same time Itzhak is ready for butchering. That works out well because Stella will have new friends to replace her best bud. (They're really tight and spend all their time together.)
"Make no mistake, people will die!" That dire prediction came from a Democrat within minutes of the House passage of the President's health care bill.
They had their talking points ready, details be damned.
Including the detail of a rewrite (at least) in the Senate and then the reconciliation process. What we now see looks nothing like what may get the President's signature months from now.
I have lots of tasks to get done in the next three days, but I miss spending time writing. My brain wants to hunker down and create. I may head into Starbucks tomorrow and get those 10' rafters on my way home. I also need to get a bale of alfalfa.
Uff-dah.
