"No wise man ever wished to be younger." - Jonathan Swift

This was a productive day on Baker Rd. I got a deer cover made for another of the raised beds, got the rest of the wall framing and rafters done on the goat barn addition, worked on Section Four, and watched the Kentucky Derby. (I wanted the one-eyed horse.) I was hoping my spring pins would come in today's mail but that didn't happen. Even if they arrive Monday I may not get the springs installed before leaving for AZ. Grrr.

The FCC is investigating  Stephen Colbert's comments re. President Trump.
What's to investigate?? Watch the tape and/or read the transcript.
The guy makes a disgusting sexual comment about my President and a day later apologizes to gay men. Something's wrong with this picture.

I'm curious to hear tomorrow's sermon. The text, from 1 Thess. 1, includes Paul's words, "We know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you." So will we get some classic Calvinism or will he roll right by that phrase and pay it no mind?

While she was out this afternoon Pam stopped by the feed store and got a bale of alfalfa that they loaded in the back of the Kia for her (a bale of alfalfa is heavy). I'd put a piece of plastic down, but that alfalfa and the bale of straw I got last week have made for a fragrant mess back there. Eau de ferme.
One of the tasks for the next day or two is a thorough cleaning of the Kia's interior. Hay, straw, dirt and dust. A road trip 24 hours long should be done in a clean car. I'll wash the outside, too. It will be bug-covered halfway down the central valley, but it will start clean.

This cold has been a stubborn one. The worst is the cough, which hits in fits that leave me breathless and hurt my chest. Today marks seven days, so it should be much better beginning tomorrow.
Please.

Nothin' else. Too tired, including from this cold. I would really like a decent night's sleep uninterrupted by coughing fits and the inability to breathe.
