This is for the Star Wars buffs out there who are all a-twitter over the upcoming release of the sixteenth installment of that series. (I'm not one of them.)
We had to sign a 4-year contract, but the Verizon tower isn't slated to go online until sometime in 2018 and that's before they have the delays all projects lie this experience. So I figured I'd jump on this deal and save money while we're waiting.
So far the speed seems about the same. I'm not losing signal as often, so there's that.
Next up - getting rid of our AT&T cell phone plan and saving another ~$30 with Verizon.
For the first time in a week we made it into the 40's today and tonight's low will be a balmy 28 instead of the low 20's we've had for this stretch of cold weather. I shut off the two outside faucets and turned off the heat lamp in the pump house - an expression of unbridled optimism.
I baked a blueberry pie yesterday. It should have come out of the oven about 5 minutes earlier, which is why the crust is a little dark. But it doesn't taste burned at all. In fact, the pie tastes pretty good.
Is there anything that so epitomizes the worst of contemporary Christmas culture like O Holy Night played on an alto sax?
This morning I crossed the halfway point on re-keying the first book. I've found a handful of errors, mostly punctuation problems like commas that should be periods. One sentence fragment. But I fear that for every error I find I'm introducing two more.
Spell check flags those problems, but only if the error isn't also a word.
Tonight we watched Winter Olympic Trials in mixed doubles curling. They have a halftime break. A cup of hot chocolate in the locker room?
But it does grow on you. Once you figure out the sport's basics - and they're very basic - and catch on to some of the terminology it's fun.
