"Sometimes when you look in his eyes you get the feeling someone else is driving." - David Letterman
Who thought it was a good idea to take the better part of three months off of running? Oh my.
This is pain.
The inexpensive (and cheap) cell phone cases I ordered on Amazon came today, six weeks after I ordered them. But I guess that's pretty good since they came all the way from Shenzhen Guandong, China.
I've got more time than money and these set me back all of $5.95 each. They were four times that amount from dealers here in the States.
This morning I sent revised files of both books off to Amazon where they're now being reviewed to make sure they meet Amazon's specs. They say I should hear back within 24 hours and assuming all is good...it's a wrap!
I know you don't understand and probably don't care, but you came here of your own free will so the problem is yours, not mine.
It took me WAY too long, but I finally figured Sally's problem. As I reviewed all the symptoms in my head yet again this morning it suddenly hit me. One issue would result in all of the symptoms: Horrible cold starts, an idle way to fast that will come down only after repeatedly blipping the gas pedal, bad mpg, but strong running once she's warmed up and going down the road.
Unfortunately, that single cause is a bad needle & seat inside the carburetor. I'll spare you the full explanation (you're welcome). The unfortunate part is that the solution is rebuilding the carb, a job I really, really don't like. It's one of those auto tasks that doesn't get any easier no matter how many times you do it, and this time will be #TooMany. Almost every old car I've owned has needed this job done. I already have the rebuild kit so it won't cost me any money, just time and stress. (Assuming I don't lose any of the very tiny parts or break something in the process.)
It will wait until I get back from Seattle Friday. Maybe it's a next Monday job.
I have a whole blog post I wrote last night that began:
"I'm either on a righteous crusade or turning into a curmudgeon."
I'm sufficiently concerned that the answer is b) curmudgeon that it remains a draft.
I wrote here last week about F1 eliminating grid girls. Over the weekend they announced that the grid girls will be replaced with young grid boys.
Am I the only one who thinks that doesn't seem like such a great idea?
So the stock market took a nose dive today, the single biggest point drop in history. I was feeling bad about how much our retirement fund dropped until I thought about how much money really rich people lost today. Millions of dollars.
Perspective.
What does it mean when someone is described as a person of interest in a particular crime? It seems to be something less than a suspect but more than "we don't think he had anything to do with it." And it seems unfair. It seems like saying, "We don't have anything that would stand up in court but we think this guy's guilty. So by calling him a 'person of interest' we can make him look bad to others without the bother of having real evidence."
Either arrest and charge him or keep your mouth shut. It's the whole "innocent until proven guilty" bit, vs. guilt by innuendo.
