I'd love to explain it to you but I don't have crayons.

It's Sunday night and I don't usually post after the morning's action because total brain fatigue means I might say something beyond the normal inane and slide right into self-destructive. I've never really wanted to have much in common with V.P. Biden so I stay away from writing whatever is on my mind come a Sunday night. So why am I here now. I dunno. Consider this a disclaimer, a disavowal.

I bought six Paperwhite bulbs and an Amaryllis to brighten the place up for the holidays. The instructions say it takes both about six weeks to bloom but I think the Paperwhites are going to win. I took these two pictures 24 hours apart (click to enlarge). It's hard to tell with the longer stalks but look at some of the smaller shoots coming out of the bulbs. Crazy, and fun to watch from day to day. I don't have a picture of the Amaryllis because it hasn't started to grow yet, and frankly, until they blossom they don't look like something that belongs in a preacher's blog.

The Rolling Stones started their reunion tour this weekend. I heard on the NBC Nightly News that their average age exceeds that of the Supreme Court.
The average of the people who went to that concert is the same as the residents of Sun City.

Some of the dear people at Pathway are going through some pretty difficult times right now. The preacher feels honored that they choose to share those with him. He also feels so bad for them. Sure wish I could make their problems go away!

I am so far behind in this weekend's fantasy football matchup that I need the three players I have in tonight's Green Bay/Giants game to score 74 points. To put that in perspective, that's more than is sometimes scored by an entire fantasy team over a weekend's games.
So whaddaya think of my chances?
