I was working on the driver side glass by 7 a.m. and had almost everything done and buttoned up by 9 a.m. I went down this afternoon to one of the vintage parts suppliers and got the escutcheons for the window and door handles and to the hardware store to get the correct screws to install the outer molding. That and some Vaseline has it all DONE.Yeah, Vaseline. The new felt window channels are too tight until they get broken in, so a little lubrication helps the windows wind all the way up.
I sold the Dodge! At pizza last night Josh looked it up online and discovered I was about $1,500 too high on my asking price, so in true MacDonald form I dropped it $1,000. One of the guys who lives down the street and had stopped by yesterday stopped again today and said, "I'll take it at that price." Done!
It really has been a great truck for the eight months I've owned it. Starts, runs, and drives w/o a problem of any sort. It has absolutely no bells and whistles; if you want the window down turn the crank, and if you want it unlocked put your key in the door. But if you're looking for solid transportation without any grief this truck fills the bill.
This sale concludes the divestiture of possessions in anticipation of our relocation to Oregon and moving into an 840 sq. ft. single wide. All the unnecessary furniture, clothes, gadgets, vehicles, and stuff is now gone. All that remains goes into the truck we'll load up one week from today. When we build our tiny house we may have to reduce a little more to match the 200 sq. ft. smaller abode, but we can do that.
One problem I'm anticipating is getting our furniture in MoHo. Especially the two recliners we pretty much live in. I realized while working on it this summer that old mobile homes don't have normal size anything, including entry doors. Instead of the standard 36" door it's 32", and I'm not sure our recliners will fit through that opening. Then what??
Hillary said today that if elected she'll make gun control and LGBT rights top priorities in her administration.
It looks like she's not counting on much of a crossover vote.
When I turn our new sound bar on the little LED display in the center says, "hello." When I turn it off it just says, "off." That bothers me. Shouldn't it say, "goodbye" or "see ya"?
Pam's dog goes over to the door from the garage several times during the day and just looks at it, as though doing so will somehow result in her coming through it.
Sorry, Bear. We both gotta just wait until Monday night.
