"First you forget names, then you forget faces. Next you forget to pull your zipper up and finally, you forget to pull it down." - George Burns
By 5 p.m. we'd had an inch of rain and the pace is supposed to pick up between now and midnight. Two inches could happen for this 24-hour period, which added to the 1/2" we had yesterday and the 1/4" the day before explains why the ground here feels like a sponge.
Today I painted the loft with Kilz using the electric paint gun I got. There's a learning curve and I think I thinned the paint too much, but it got the job done. With no window in place yet and the humidity at 98% it may be a long time before it's dry. I wonder if setting a fan up there would make any difference. Maybe - if it was turned on.
Pam begins working with the little kids tomorrow. The youngest are out through the whole service and the older kids leave just before the sermon. She'll work with them every other week and alternate between the age groups.
I'm helping with setup and take down each Sunday. Emmaus meets in a community center so chairs, tables and coffee go up and down.
I sent out a couple of emails Thursday about my trips and now arrangements for Tanzania are in full swing. The trip will be in early April and I'll be traveling with a pastor from Ohio. It's a conference for Tanzanian pastors and their wives, and we'll team teach the pastors. It will take the better part of two days to get there, so traveling together will be more pleasant than going alone. Plus, this guy's daughter is a missionary there and he went out to see her two years ago. His presence on the way out means I won't end up in Ethiopia wondering where I made that wrong turn.
Doc Martin is back on PBS Saturday nights. The British TV show, not the shoes. It's good. Quirky, but it is British.
