The Cruz campaign sent messages to digital devices inside the the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas during the Republican Jewish Coalition convention held there recently emphasizing Cruz's support of Israel. They used something called geo-fencing that made those messages visible only within the hotel.
According to the GAO, a government agency, the EPA, another government agency, broke federal law in its efforts to drum up support for an administration water regulation that req'd Congressional approval. The EPA sent out "support this b/c it's good for our waterways" digital messages and urged people to forward and repost them but withhold the original source of the message. That, the GAO says, amounted to propaganda and violated the law prohibiting govt. agencies from engaging in lobbying.
So, what happens now? Does the EPA go to jail, get put on probation for a first offense, or pay a fine to the federal govt.?
I had several minutes of pure panic this morning. I opened the doc I'm working on to discover that all 10 pages were there, but pages 8-10 had no text on them. I tried 86 different things to no avail. I finally discovered that a "restore" command to a version from last Friday morning had the missing text.
Oh my.
That was about a week's worth of work that disappeared on me.
And yes, I should be doing an external backup. I'm now working on that process.
Came home and started installing insulation in Fred's loft. I got about half of it in when the rain stopped and I shifted to putting the stuff I tore out into the dumpster I had delivered last week. By 4:00 I was exhausted and very cold.
Tomorrow both the dumpster loading and insulation installation will be set aside while I work on the truck. It's forecasted to be the first rain free day we've had in over a week and the last we'll have until Saturday...maybe. I hope to get the axles and the new radiator installed. But I'm not looking forward to the work because the former requires laying on the wet ground and the high *might* get to 43 degrees.
I'm not looking forward to getting about 10 sheets of drywall up into the loft. Anyone want to come help?
If we had junk food in the house I'd spend the rest of the evening gorging. Somehow bananas just don't do it.
I know. BACON!!

If I wasn't in KC, MO. I'd drive down and help you get that Sheetrock into the loft & installed. (I'd probably bring some pulleys and ropes with me to help two old geezers.)
