Another one picked off Facebook. Thanks, Scott.
It rained pretty hard for stretches last night so I went down to the coop this morning to see how it faired. No leaks, but I may add a sloped piece of siding over the nest boxes that project from coop's side to act like a roof so there's no way rain can get in even if the wind blows from the north. They're under the eave, but just barely.
Having the coop closed up and water tight means I can transfer the boxes of garage stuff currently stowed in Fred over to the coop. I'll need Fred completely empty very soon. After a few more hours up in the loft doing demo I need to spray every surface above and below with oxygenated bleach to kill the mold, then spray with Kilz to kill the odor of mustiness. The only exception will be the exposed beams below that also support the loft floor above. They'll stay natural.
Tomorrow afternoon we're going to that place in Eugene that sells architectural salvage to see if they have enough barn wood for me to do a wainscot. We're eager to see if they have a bunch of cool stuff or mostly junk.
This last week I had two very different conversations. One was the kind of quick, efficient back-and-forth that this ADD guy loves. It moved briskly with no wasted words and a ton of ground covered in very little time. Information intensive.
The other conversation was slow. Not in a plodding way, but in a sitting on the front porch in rocking chairs manner. We were still exchanging information, but at 1/4 the pace.
The first was good for me. It was fun, and I walked away mentally stimulated. Circumstances didn't allow, but I wished it could have gone on longer.
The other was good for me. We connected. And though circumstances did allow there, either, we've talked about getting together for more.
The people are the best part.
