"The reason there are two senators for every state is so that one of them can be the designated driver." - Jay Leno

In case you missed the press coverage last week, here's a cool site. It uses meteorological data to predict where the most vivid sunrises and sunsets will occur.

Trump rips on Bill Clinton for his marital infidelities. This from a guy who's been married three times.

I worked after lunch up in the loft and got the window painted and installed. I had to install it from the inside, which meant cutting off the ears and screwing through the frame into the 2x4's, but that worked as described, so now the space is weather tight. I'll fill the gaps with expandable foam tomorrow and then set up our portable heater and a fan to get it good and dry.
Next up: the lower level.

I planned to work on the woodshed installing the cedar boards I got at Home Depot this morning, but - surprise! - it started to rain. According to Weather Underground we've had just over 54" today, but I think that may be a little off. Whatever the actual amount, I decided I didn't want to work in the rain and cold so I came inside to do chores. Pam was gone for the afternoon so I cleaned floors. I knew the floors were dirty and was still surprised at how quickly the water got so muddy I couldn't see the bottom of the bucket.

Chip Kelly got fired today as Eagles head coach. I like his style of football - fast and all-out. He sure did good things at Oregon, and Philly did well for two of his three years there. I'm interested to see if he gets another pro job or goes back to college ball. I think what he does makes an NFL game a lot more fun to watch.

Eight more sleeps and we'll be with our kids and grandkids! We miss them a lot.

George Pataki dropped out of the presidential race.
Honestly now, could you have named him as one of the candidates? If he walked into your living room would you recognize him?
I hope none of the remaining 36 Republican candidates are counting on a bump from his supporters, since his polling was at 0%.

We're going to win the HGTV sweepstakes for the Fixer Upper show and get a stay at the Gaines' B&B in Waco, TX.
That's about the only way I'd choose to go to Texas, but it's definitely enough.

Pitaki wasn't going to win, but with the resignation of every Republican candidate we are one step closer to Trump as the candidate elect. That's a scary prospect.

I see it just the opposite. None of Pataki's supporters will go over to Trump, so the support of one or more reasonable, moderate candidate increases. If (when?) we get down to one or two moderates vs. Trump he'll be toast. The problem now is that the reasonable candidates are splitting the majority of Republicans too many ways. We could drop 4 or 5 more and Trump would be in trouble.
