Happy Valentine's Day
And why is it called a petcock? 'cause it's neither one.
Justice Scalia's death throws an interesting twist into the election dynamics. Filling a vacancy on SCOTUS is always a complex process, but much more so when the vacancy occurs this close to a presidential election.
I agree with the news analysts I heard this afternoon saying the political posturing within hours of the news of Scalia's sudden death is disrespectful to his grieving family.
I mentioned in my last post (this morning) that today is Pam's birthday. It was also her dad's birthday. He died of cancer 25 years ago and we both miss him. He was a gentle, intelligent, wise, and compassionate man. There's often a special bond between father and daughter, and when they share a birthday it's even stronger.
Which makes it even more significant that he was never anything but warm and supportive of the guy who married that daughter.
While it was still cold and cloudy, before working on the truck (I also got the battery installed) I worked in Fred for a couple of hours. I decided to do one wall at a time and I took this pic part way through working on the back wall. First, a whisk broom, then a shop vac, then a coat of Kilz put on with a brush. This will, I hope, take care of the musty smell. I got that wall done and will try to do one per day between now and leaving for Puerto Rico next Friday. Once this step is completed I can install the rough electrical.
I was told the cord of firewood I got six weeks ago was cured and just had surface moisture from sitting outside uncovered.
False advertising.
We're well past the month he said it would take to get rid of that surface moisture and it still won't burn. Grrr.
Baby, it's cold inside.
