"My cooking is so bad my kids thought Thanksgiving was to commemorate Pearl Harbor." - Phyllis Diller
I haven't had one of those muscle relaxer (AKA sleepy-bye-night-night) pills in 24 hours. I'm taking Ibuprofen right on schedule and moving very, very carefully. So far that's doing the trick. That's good, because I was getting nothing done while sleeping endlessly in my chair.
We didn't go to church this morning, the first time since we moved here to OR. I figured that at 65 I've already slept through my allowed number of sermons, and this morning I was still pretty hung over from last night's pill. Besides, should the church we were going to attend - a new one on our quest - end up being the one at which we settle I didn't want the guy thinking, "Oh yeah; he's the guy who can't stay awake."
Before that last muscle spasm, the one that put me on the floor unable to get up, I'd put down all but the perimeter floor tiles in Fred. This afternoon I went down and finished that part of the rehab. I cut those to the proper width - 3.75" each - and put them down. I was very careful to move slowly and without twisting my back, and all went well. In fact, it may have been therapeutic; I'm supposed to be stretching those muscles and in a squatting position with my back was arched.
(That last part was to put my mother at ease, though I'm sure it didn't work.)
Tomorrow I'll get the 1"x3" cedar I'll use for baseboard and get that down which will officially finish off the lower level. Then I can start furnishing it beginning with book shelves.
Ah, to have my books back.
We watched 60 Minutes and then the tribute to the now-retired Morley Safer. Both were very good.
The first lap of the F1 race today in Spain was not, at least if you're a Lewis Hamilton fan like I am.
Taken out by his own teammate.
Each week brings more unbelievable revelations about the presumptive GOP nominee and has me thinking, "Surely this will doom him." The guy fakes being his own PR guy so he can brag about his sexual prowess, admits it, and then denies it. Who does that?? And who thinks someone who does would make a good president?
I give up.
