"Nobody ever made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little." - Edmund Burke
I'm feeling much better than I did at this time last night. I have never had a toothache that bad. I OD'd on Ibuprofen, took decongestants, and held an ice pack to my cheek. Nothing helped. I've read that the nerves in the triangle formed by the bridge of your nose and the corners of your mouth go directly to your brain instead of routing there through the spinal column, which is why pain in that area feels so intense. I don't know if that's true, but that was sure intense last night.
Pain is exhausting, and by 8 p.m. I was too tired to go to bed, so I pulled my chair throw over my head and slept all night in my chair.
The good news: today has been much better. It still hurts, but not nearly like it did last night. I'm taking the antibiotic the dentist prescribed and hoping that in a day or two that will do the trick.
Hey, this antibiotic is a little scary. The list of side effects plus the verbal warning the pharmacist gave Pam when she picked it up certainly gives one pause. I'm almost guaranteed to get diarrhea, and in some people it's been bad enough to be fatal (C-DIFF). Oh boy!
I worked all day on the trailer and got far enough that I should finish by noon tomorrow. The only part of the buildout remaining is installing the soft soap dispensers, hanging the hook/shelf units, putting in the shower heads, and installing the LED ceiling lights. The cover for the water heater and elec. panel turned out OK and the bench is pretty cool, if I do say so myself.
After I've done those installations I'll spend an hour or more cleaning it. Because I've worked through rain all the surfaces are dirty. I cut the shower board panels on the deck so they got messy and the floor is a muddy disaster. It will all get washed down as well as I can do it...in the pouring rain we'll get all day.
The reagents at OSU voted unanimously to raise tuition for in-state students over 10%. As you can imagine, the public hearings were noisy with lots of students with big signs held high. One I saw said, "Education is a right."
Really? So (per Bernie) it should be offered to everyone at no cost (nothing except air comes at no cost).
How much education? We covered you through 12th grade; should we take you through a Ph.D.? Should we cover your living expenses during that time, too?
We got the truck back from Leroy yesterday and it now has a fully functioning E-brake. That didn't come cheap, so I'm trying to decide if I should list it with a "non-op wiper motor" and accept whatever hit that involves or front the money (about $100) to get a new motor. Hmmm.
I'll work on detailing it while I make up my mind. I'll go over every square inch to make sure it's clean and polished where appropriate so that if/when we get a sunny day I can get some good pics for a listing. I went over to Leroy's while he had it up on the lift and got some pics of the underside, something buyers of old cars/trucks want to see. No rust!!
Because of her physical issues Sundae was at the bottom of the pecking order at Marta's. Here she is twice the size of Stella and may weigh more than all three of them together. So far she seems to enjoy her new role as the queen and leaves no question who's in charge. And charge she does! Poor Stella is terrified and can't get far enough away from Sundae. I almost feel sorry for her.
