My therapist says my narcissism causes me to misread social situations. I'm pretty sure she was hitting on me.

We went to the local dive for our normal $10 pizza and got the new waitress. Very pleasant young gal who looks to be in her late 20's. I asked her the story behind the tattoo on her left forearm, a treble clef about 4" tall.
No story. Her boyfriend knows how to do tattoos and picked this one out of a book because he liked it.
At Pam's urging I did not tell her he did it backwards.

You've probably seen those ads for Prevagen, the supplement based on an ingredient "originally found in jellyfish" that promises to improve you memory.
Who ate a jellyfish and then said, "Oh yeah! It's garbage day. I gotta get the can out to the curb."

After lunch today we drove about 15 mi. north to the Camas Country Mill and Bakery. Not what we expected, but still cool. Years ago they moved a one room schoolhouse to the property and have it pretty close to the way it originally looked except that it's set up with tables and chairs for lunch. In the small shop next door they sell All. Kinds. Of. Grains. that they stone mill themselves and that are guaranteed to be organically grown. No GMO's or chemical fertilizers. I never knew there were so many kinds of grain.
They used to give tours but their mill now also serves local grain farms besides their own and govt. regulations make tours incompatible with govt. regs.
We're going back. They have a guy who bakes fresh bread and pastries in a beehive oven outside every morning. They open at 8 a.m. and serve up his handiwork in the bakery, and then serve lunch in the schoolhouse, specialty sandwiches made on his bread.
But we'll have to wait a week or so because that baker is in Washington at a big conference for artisan bakers.

We've talked for a long time about getting a real dog, as opposed to Bear, the 12 lb. animal that passes for a dog. Just about the only canine thing he does is eat poop. Any large(r) dog would almost certainly be a rescue because a purebred from a breeder is too pricey.
Pam found someone local who has a female Treeing Walker and male Blue Tick Hound (two similar breeds), and has 7 puppies from that pairing. They're ready to go to homes and the price was very reasonable.
I'd never heard about the Treeing Walker so I did a bunch of research on both breeds. They're scent hounds bred to hunt and have a "bawl mouth," meaning their bark is a howl. Blue Ticks have a "chop mouth," meaning a short, sharp bark. Both breeds are active, gentle, intelligent, and easily trained.
Because they're scent hound hunters they also need a large fenced area where they can get plenty of exercise (they're supposed to be a good breed for runners who will give them the exercise they need), but will also keep them from following a scent with their intense focus for miles at a time.
We've got plenty of room, but it's not fenced. So this afternoon we walked the perimeter on this side of the creek and talked about how to fence it. On two sides we already have a 4-strand barbed wire fence on metal posts, so that would just be a case of putting up 4" field wire. The other two sides would require both stakes and fencing.
Another long term project. So these hounds don't work, but we've now got an ideal of what's necessary if/when we decide this is something we want to move ahead with.
