"Middle age is when a guy turns off lights for economical, rather than romantic reasons." - Lillian Gordy Carter

I got almost nothing done this morning thanks to the preacher's hangover. I mostly sat in my chair, drank coffee, watched yesterdays recorded F1 race from Australia, and avoided online news stories about porn stars and presidents.

I did a little better this afternoon. The highlight was taking Sally out for some exercise, her first trip since before I went to NY. I took her down the hill to get more chicken feed.
Fingers crossed! I think I have the carb problems fixed and the adjustments dialed in. She ran smoothly, the choke cable worked like it should, and all that remains is a slight adjustment on the idle speed, something done with the turning of a single screw.
She ran strong.
I'm back in love with her.

I also sprayed weeds and wild grass that's growing where it shouldn't. When I get back from Seattle and visiting mom this week I'm going to make borders for the paths and then have more gravel brought in. I'm also making a couple more raised beds for Pam's vegetable garden.

2.5 mile run. The only way to get back into race shape is to gut out these daily runs. This pain is the price I pay for taking almost three months off.

Former President Jimmy Carter says Trump's choice of John Bolton to be National Security Advisor is a "national disaster" and the worst move of his presidency. This from the one term President who was responsible for:
I have no idea if Bolton is a bad pick or not but Jimmy Carter may not be the most credible critic.

Tonight we watched another episode of the PBS show Maigret. We decided it took us awhile but we like it. Once we got used to watching Rowan Atkinson as a French detective and not Mr. Bean it got a lot better.
A show set in Paris about a French detective acted by all British actors and broadcast in the U.S. Hmmm.
With some French-isms. This: "Henry V" is not Henry the Fifth. It's something like Enri Sank. I'm not sure where he sank or why but I hope he could swim.
They do have a lot of cool Citroens in the show.

The plan is to take Sally to the coffee shop in the morning. She'll wait outside while I work on the sessions for Brazil. Sketching out the 12 sessions on dispensationalism shouldn't be tricky. The twelve hours on leadership training will be more challenging to lay out. Joe gave me some related topics he thinks will be helpful. The problem: he identified 10 topics, any one of which could occupy the whole time. Plus, teaching leadership is definitely not my strong suit. To the extent I've led it's been more instinct than conscious theory.
