"I'm so ugly I worked in a pet shop and people kept asking how big I'd get." - Rodney Dangerfield
JD Power just put out a report on customer satisfaction by brand. In the non-luxury market brands Fiat-Chrysler holds the bottom five positions, including cars made by Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram.
I wonder if this will be an agenda item at their next board meeting.
In Portuguese a microwave oven is a forno de microondas which seems like it should be a cookie.
One of the truly weird things about Portuguese is that in about 90% of the words a "d" is pronounced like a "j". So it's a forno (roll the r) jeh microondas. The double "oo" is a long "o" and just forget about that final "s". Portuguese hates consonants at the end of words so it there is one you just ignore it. Words almost all end with a vowel sound
And this is only part of why I've given up on learning Portuguese. Crazy language!
They have the letter C which gets a hard sound like in cat.
They have the letter S which gets a sound just like ours -stop.
Why stop there? said the cat. The have Ç which also gets the s sound and is called a cedilla.
I'ts now Saturday morning and the two paragraphs above are two days old. Hmmm.
Things got a little busy. I had extra work related stuff that had me longer at the office and busy on my laptop here at home. I had feed store runs to make, budding fruit trees to get pruned (badly), and a bunch of normal chores that got complicated for one reason or another.
Almost two months ago I ordered and rec'd three windows in my continuing effort to replace all the single pane aluminum windows in MoHo. They've been sitting up in the shed for over a month waiting for dry weather that would allow installation. Yesterday afternoon I got one of them in and learned it takes me just over an hour to get the old one out and the new window in and all caulked. I hope to get the other two installed this afternoon. Then I'll have to make a Lowe's run to get the interior and exterior trim molding to do that final step. That will leave me three windows left to replace - the hardest three. One of them is a mirror of the first window I did and is the most expensive. The other two are on the west side of the house and therefore quite a ways up. One of the two kitchen windows will be especially tricky because it will weigh about 50 lbs. and is about 10' up in the air. How will I get it up the ladder and set in place? Hmmmm.
I'll figure that out when we've saved up the money and purchased the window. There's time.
My class is in Isaiah now. All 66 chapters of it. We're about half way through and if you don't know the background and some of the dynamics of OT prophetic writing it can be a slog. I'm trying to keep it interesting with my daily emails but it's a challenge.
Maybe if you have to keep explaining your tweets after a firestorm erupts it's time to set the phone down and shut up until you've figured out how your clumsy and wrong-headed words are received.
AOC.
We'll reach the upper 60s tomorrow and maybe breach 70 Monday.
I feel a bad cold coming on that may require missing work Monday.
OK, it's already 7:15, the dog is bugging me for his morning walk and pretty soon the goats will be waking up the neighbors wondering where their a.m. grain allotment is.
I'll do better at posting. Promise.
