"Genius is nothing more than elegant common sense." - Josh Billings
Today I learned the hotel booking site Trivago gets its name from the French word "tri", which means "go," plus the Spanish word "va" which means "go," plus the English word, "go."
You're welcome.
I think Trump should choose KellyAnne Conway to replace Sarah Sanders as his press secretary. Dem heads would explode!
Dolly hasn't bagged yet, the sure sign that kidding is imminent. But we're still three days out IF we have the count right, so assuming she follows normal form she'll bag tomorrow. Marta says she's seen does that didn't bag until right after they've kidded. Because it's Dolly's first she may not do the normal routine and/or she could be outside the norm into future kiddings. We'll take notes.
OK, it's creeping up on 7 p.m. and we've had dinner. The work part of the day is over, and I'm glad.
I spent two hours getting the right rear quarter window out so I could remove that molding. It did NOT go well and I have no idea how I'll get it all back in. There are three major parts: the glass in it's frame, the track is slides up and down in, and the "regulator" - the mechanism that moves the assembly up and down when you turn the handle. Then there are a dozen little pieces like the rollers, the stops that limit travel up and down, and a handful of bolts. All of this is mostly invisible, hidden behind sheet metal on the outside and the inside. Mostly I just started removing bolts and pulling at things to see what would come loose. Answer: nothing.
Two hours, skinned knuckles (sharp metal edges), bent moldings, and several non-church words later I got it all out. But I'm pretty sure I did it the most ineffective way possible, which means I have no clue how it all goes back together. I was working blind for most of it because, for example, the holes the bolts go in can't be seen from any angle.
Usually taking something apart teaches you how to put it back together. Not in this case.
I only did the right side so I'd have the left to look at when doing reassembly. And I'm hoping to find some You Tube videos.
Or, I might drive around with plastic duct taped over the opening. 'cause that's classy.
The coop is cleaned inside and out. The barn is clean and I made repairs to several things the goats have broken over the last few weeks. The pen gate spring has been fixed, the feeders reattached, and new chain put on the clip that holds the kidding pen door shut.
And I got a bale of grass hay and a mineral block.
So yes, I'm hanging on to those successes to redeem my day.
That and the coffee and fist full of cookies I'm going to consume before going to bed.
Something about "one cheat per week." Naw, not this week.
