We live in a metal box.
Class this morning was ...not my best work. I had about five topics I wanted to hit, which req'd a pretty frenetic pace and no common thread. We talked about the meaning and function of the invocation, benediction, and doxology, church words that most under the age of 40 apparently aren't familiar with. The I talked about giving as discussed in 1 Cor. 16 and gave an intro to 2 Cor., the book they'll start reading later this week. By the time I was done I think we were all exhausted.
They're a great group and hang with me, laugh at my silliness, and seem to keep coming back for more.
I came home and took a preacher's nap and then went out to Barnette to work on Sally. I haven't said much about it but I've been wrestling for days with the rear quarter windows. I had to take them out to do the painting and getting them back in was a wrestling match. Getting them properly aligned literally kept me awake. I've spent hours and hours - at least five - getting just one of them in and messing with the alignment. This afternoon I tried yet another tactic and this time IT WORKED!! I was so excited and pleased I didn't even try to go do the other side. I didn't want to ruin the feeling of success.
I don't know if I'll have time to work on Sally tomorrow. I have a full morning at work, a call coming from Joe in the afternoon, and lots to do before I leave at 3 a.m. Tuesday. Plus, our small group has a BBQ tomorrow evening out in Coburg, 45 minutes east of us. Any more progress will probably have to wait until next weekend when I'm back from Seattle and here for five days before leaving for Brazil.
I did get the rear bumper installed and the taillights back in. Gotta admit, she's looking pretty good. I think she's going to be a legitimate head turner.
Besides the normal stuff I'm writing my daily class emails for the days I'm in Brazil. I'll have internet there but maybe not the time or energy to write them. So if I get the 16 of them written and in my Drafts folder I can just send the appropriate one each day I'm gone. It takes me about 20-30 minutes to write one and I have about six done so far. I do them two or three at a time as I have opportunity throughout the day. I may try to do a couple between my shower and bed.
