Anybody old enough to remember pin boys? This photo is from 1910 in Brooklyn.

Yes, I'm back. Not back to normal, but back.
It hit me suddenly at about 1:00 a.m. Monday morning, and the term "violently ill" serves as an apt description. My body adds some exciting phenomena to episodes like this which make them even more fun for all involved. Yesterday and most of today have been spent moving between the bed, the couch and the recliner...except for very frequent trips to you-know-where. So forgive me if this post doesn't contain the normal amount of wit and wisdom.
Yeah, right.
In place of that usual punditry, a few links worth checking out.
Don't you wish you'd had profs like this guy?

Had a Bad Day
Remember my reference last week to my older brother Scott? The one so old that he went into the woods with my granddad the logger back when they used mules and buck saws? He sent me this one of a guitar player I've never heard of. Now I'm wondering why I've never heard of him.
Tommy Emmanuel
I've been thinking back to Senator Clinton's story about landing under sniper fire in Bosnia. I cannot accept that she misremembered an experience like that. And misspoke is a word in search of a definition. In this case I have concluded that she lied. Now why she would do that is beyond me; the veracity of the story was too easy to check. And I'm amazed that the press isn't all over this. Obama continues to take a hit for things his pastor said (never hold people accountable for what their pastor says!) but Clinton's Bosnia bunk (there's another alliteration available but I'll let it go) is quickly fading from the news cycle. Will the American public let it go? Do we really want a President who will lie so blatantly and so gratuitously?
OK, that's about all the energy I have at this point. Pam just announced that she's got tonight's dinner almost ready and I'm going to try some solid food. I promise to do better tomorrow.
