"One useless man is a shame, two is a law firm and three or more is Congress." - John Adams

I'm thinking messy divorce.

TNT has better playoff coverage than ESPN. The sound quality on ESPN is muddy and TNT has much better announcers and analysts. IMHO.

I met this morning with Matt & Claire, the gal who will create the artwork for the curriculum covers and labels. I'm impressed with everyone I've worked with there. Matt has a good group of people.
I'm eager to see what Claire comes up with.
I have to input the last of the edits to the Teacher's and Students' text, go over the unit exams and create the files. But that should be doable by Wednesday when I'm supposed to email it all to Seattle.

We have one credit card and use it only for things like online purchases that require a credit card. We pay off any balance each month. I also have a credit card that I use to buy things for jobs I do. I pay that off each month, too. Both credit cards and our personal accounts are at Wells Fargo.

Yesterday I got a letter from Wells Fargo that said my business card had been canceled. It specified three reasons for the cancellation:
  • Minimal account activity
  • Charge off trades found in Credit Bureau report
  • Record of Trades Ever 60 or more days Past Due or in Permanent Default
I typed those exactly as they appear in the letter.

I could understand the first one because I charge a purchase once or twice a month. I have no idea what the second one means. I'm not sure what language that's in but it's not the English I learned in school. I haven't traded anything since that piece of yellow string in 3rd grade and I can only assume that "charge off" is some sort of technical term.

The third one?? Aside from the fact I think they mean "Every" I can't do any better with this one than with the second. Again with the trades. And in the 32 months I've had the card I have never carried a balance from one month to the next.

I went in to Wells Fargo this morning and got nowhere. She says she can't access my account information. I should call Experian Consumer Assistance at the number on the back of the letter. Experian is a credit reporting agency and she said they'd have information for me. This despite the line in the letter that reads: "The agency(s) took no part in our decision and is unable to provide the specific reasons why the adverse action was taken."

I contacted Experian when I got home. Guess what. They couldn't tell me anything. I printed out a free credit report and it shows nothing adverse or suspicious. Our credit rating is excellent. It also doesn't show this card.

Don't know what I do next. We have worked very hard to use credit minimally and to keep our credit rating high. We've never been turned down for anything. Now this. I don't know which bothers me more - that a card got canceled or that I can't find out why.
I'll be back at my bank Monday morning and may just camp out there for as long as it takes to get some answers.
I'm ticked!

I took Al for a longer walk than normal this evening. But I feel terrible, because by the time we got home he was clearly in distress. I don't know if it was the heat, the distance or both, but I was scared to see him struggling to breathe and overheated. He's sleeping now but it took a long time for the panting to die down.
Won't do that again!

So between the banking mess and Al's trouble at my hand I'm not real pleased on this Friday night. Let's see if we can't make tomorrow better.

I think Ever means "Over" not "Every." Huh?

They are claiming you had bad debt that the lender charged off. They are also claiming that you have credit accounts that are more than 60 days past due. They are nuts. Call me if you want more help. Bro

I know it's been a few months, but I hope you drank heavily and got your wits about you and just filled out another application (of the several I'm sure you still receive in the mail each week) and got on with it. Wells Fargo, BOA, they're all the same and why go through the heartache. If you pay your balance each month you're probably on a most "unwanted" list. Good luck. Did you go hear John today?
